Projects Here

The local goal of Kids Here & There is to address the needs of our community through donating time to local charities and promoting volunteerism among students. It is our hope to help local kids and their families “here” in congruence with sponsoring medical professionals “there”.

By the Numbers:

  • 7 schools are participating in Central Ohio
  • More than 350 students have affected change
  • Over 5,495 hours have been volunteered
  • $221,000 has been donated

Senior Independence Hospice
Hospice is a special kind of caring that is person and family centered and seeks to provide support and comfort to those facing a life limiting illness. Volunteers play a large role in this effort by sharing their skills and interests in a manner that enriches the quality of life for those they serve.

We are in need of compassionate and caring individuals who can provide companionship to hospice patients in their homes or nursing facilities. A companionship volunteer provides comfort and emotional support by talking with the patient, reading, doing activities, or simply being present. We need people like you to be a friend to those in need!

Please contact us to find out how you can make a difference in the lives of others!

The Homeless Families Foundation
The Homeless Families Foundation was founded in August, 1986 by Teresa Dowd, Janet Wagner, and Mary Jane Carpenter as an all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping homeless families acquire and maintain permanent housing.  In the process of developing this project, they discovered that the need for an organization dealing specifically with homeless families on a long-term basis was so widespread that they needed to work in a larger community in order to be effective; thus, the establishment of The Homeless Families Foundation. The stability of the family and the well-being of the children in homeless families is the motivating force behind the work of The Homeless Families Foundation.
